These competitions are called cross-country skiers because of the heavily rugged track and rather long distances. Now, on the eve of the winter season, the athletes were able to test their level of readiness and compete with the strongest representatives of the Moscow and Ryazan regions.

On Sunday, March 19, traditional cross-country skiing competitions were held in the village of Medvedkovo, Rybnovsky district
for the prizes of the Russian Leather Group.

For several years now, these competitions have been the last in the calendar of the Ryazan region. The unique microclimate of the area and the efforts of specialists who prepared the track throughout the season made it possible to carry out this race along a full 5-kilometer circle with an acceptable quality of snow, while in the city, due to early spring, the snow had already completely melted, and some where the first grass even turned green. The track itself in Medvedkovo is one of the most difficult in the Ryazan region, both technically and functionally, so the strongest athletes of their age groups participate in the final race of the season.

The team of the Youth Sports School of the CSK consisted of 6 people. monks Alexey received a prize as the youngest of the finishers of the race, and the department coach – Andreikin Alexey became 5 in the absolute among men. At the finish line, all athletes were waiting for hot tea and the winners (from 1st to 5th places) received cash prizes from the Russkaya Kozha group of companies.
The winter sports season in the Ryazan region is closed and after a short recovery period, skiers will start preparing for the next season.

These mass competitions are distinguished by a simple track suitable even for beginners and the hospitality of the organizers: after the finish, all participants were treated to hot tea and sweets, and the winners got great prizes! Among the representatives of our team, the best results were shown by Korolev Kirill and Sharova Daria. Kirill dropped from 2nd to 4th place due to an offensive fall 400 meters before the finish line. Daria also placed 4th in her age group despite competing in skating for the first time. Department coach – Andreykin Alexey took 3rd place among men in the absolute age category.
