Nizhny Novgorod, April 6, 2022,-GAZ cars became the Service and Bronze Prizewaters of the IIETAP of the Russian RALLI-RADAM championship-Bahi Archeda Sands. The stage of the Russian Championship was held in the Volgograd region. The crew of Yevgeny Sukhovenko and Kirill Chapaeva took the second place in the Raid Sport category, and the crew of Alexander Rusanov and Evgeny Pavlov – III place in the T1 category. Gas cars became silver and bronze medalists of the II stage of the Russian Rally-Raid championship. Bach Archeda Sands was held in the Armedinskoye sand massif of the Volgograd region. This is one of the northern deserts of Russia. The length of the racing highway was more than 700 km, of which 450 km were on sports special stages. Solid and very strict steppe roads alternated here with impassable sands and dunes.
The crews of the GAZ Raid Sport team took the second place in the Raid Sport category (crew of Evgenia Sukhovenko and Kirill Chapaev on GazeliNext) and III place in the T1 category (crew of Alexander Rusanov and Evgeny Pavlov, also at Gazeline).
The tense struggle lasted until the last meters before the finish. It is significant that the separation between the crews that took the 2nd and 2nd places during the 450-kilometer race amounted to only 28 seconds.
The Volgograd race is traditionally one of the most difficult in the Russian rally championship. Over four racing days, athletes overcame more than 800 kilometers along hard steppe roads, impassable sands of the Archedinsko-Don sand massif and high-speed tracks in the area of the Cretaceous Mountains. Of the 34 starting crews, only 22 cars were able to get to the finish line.

– At the end of 2022, the requirements for cars performing in the Raid Sport category were changed. Previously, there was a limit of engine volume of 3 liters, now it has been removed. As a result, in our class a crew is a prototype with an engine of 7.2 liters. Compare – on our sports Gazelle Next, a standard 2.8 liter motorbike is installed, forced up to 200 liters. with. It is clear that objective power indicators are not in our favor. But the constructive reliability of our cars and the skill of pilots always allow us to achieve high results.
